Summer 2006: I was an intern at the vibrant young office of TakingITGlobal, given lead role as a designer for the Youth Programme at the AIDS Conference that took place over a week in August. There were 22,000 people from all around the world at the Convention Centre in downtown Toronto. Over 1000 youth delegates attended and TakingITGlobal was the central youth connecter for this incredible event. This project had an enormous impact on me and really broadened my perspective on design and its ability to contribute to such loving people. I felt so priviledged to have the opportunity to have a massive undertaking. It was my first time taking on such a huge project in a very short period of time. From concept to production, I took on the responsibility for everything for the Youth Advocacy: from photography of TIG staff, to posters, postcards, stickers, tshirts, panels along invitations and DVD loop for the opening reception. Watch TIG's trailer for the documentary made on this amazing event.
